Fried Cabbage with Bacon Onion and Garlic


It is a household favourite that’s put into each cookbook for my children after they transfer out and get married. It’s a stunning dish with many colours and filled with taste. Warning, it’s addictive.


  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 massive onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 massive head cabbage, cored and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon salt, or to style
  • 1 teaspoon floor black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika

How To Make Fried Cabbage with Bacon Onion and Garlic

Place the bacon in a big stockpot and cook dinner over medium-high warmth till crispy, about 10 minutes. Add the onion and garlic; cook dinner and stir till the onion caramelizes; about 10 minutes. Instantly stir within the cabbage and proceed to cook dinner and stir one other 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Scale back warmth to low, cowl, and simmer, stirring sometimes, about half-hour extra.
