Picture this: a moist and tender chocolate cake, its deep cocoa notes interplaying with the luxurious embrace of velvety Oreo-infused cream. As you approach, the aroma is intoxicating, a harmonious blend of cocoa, vanilla, and the distinct essence of crushed Oreo cookies.

Ingredients:

For the Chocolate Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

For the Oreo Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3-4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6-8 crushed Oreo cookies

Instructions:

For the Chocolate Cake:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the boiling water to the batter, mixing continuously. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Oreo Glaze:

  1. In a bowl, sift together the powdered sugar and cocoa powder.
  2. Add milk and vanilla extract to the powdered sugar mixture, and whisk until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if needed.
  3. Crush the Oreo cookies into small pieces and fold them into the glaze.

Assembly:

  1. Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate.
  2. Spread a thin layer of the Oreo glaze on top of the first cake layer.
  3. Place the second cake layer on top and cover the entire cake with the remaining Oreo glaze.
  4. Optionally, you can decorate the top with additional crushed Oreos or whole cookies.
  5. Allow the glaze to set for a little while before slicing and serving.

Enjoy your rich Oreo-glazed chocolate cake!
