Soft Milk Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the remaining sugar, melted butter, and egg to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them in a greased baking pan.
  7. Cover the pan with a towel and allow the dough to rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool before slicing. Enjoy your soft milk bread!
