1 teaspoon every dried oregano, floor thyme, floor cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon floor nutmeg
4 pitas
Optionally available toppings: lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced cucumber, sliced pink onion, contemporary dill and feta cheese
Tzatziki sauce
¾ cup greek yogurt
¾ cup grated cucumber (I like to make use of an English cucumber)
2 tablespoons contemporary dill, finely chopped
½ tablespoon lemon juice
2 garlic cloves, minced
½ teaspoon salt
¼ cup feta cheese, crumbled
INSTRUCTIONS
Add the bottom beef to a skillet over medium-high warmth and cook dinner till browned, about 5-7 minutes. Add the seasonings and ½ cup of water. Simmer over medium warmth till the sauce has thickened across the meat, about 5 minutes.
Whereas the meat cooks, make the Tzatziki sauce. Begin by squeezing the extreme liquid out of the grated cucumber, discarding the liquid. In a small bowl, combine the grated cucumber with the remaining elements.
To assemble a gyro, layer a pita with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, and floor beef, then end with tzatziki sauce, contemporary dill and feta cheese.
