2 1/2cups recent or frozen (thawed and drained) blackberries (don’t use blueberries)
1cup sugar
1cup Gold Medal™ All-Goal Flour
2teaspoons baking powder
1/2teaspoon salt
1cup milk
1/2cup butter, melted
Cream, whipped cream or ice cream, if desired
Steps
1In medium bowl, stir collectively blackberries and sugar. Let stand about 20 minutes or till fruit syrup varieties. Warmth oven to 375°F.
2In giant bowl, stir collectively flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Stir in melted butter till blended. Unfold in ungreased 8-inch sq. pan. Spoon blackberry combination over batter.
3Bake 45 to 55 minutes or till dough rises and is golden. Serve heat with cream.
