Smith Island Cake (Maryland)

Elements:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup entire milk
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
For Chocolate Frosting:
1 cup heavy cream
8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour 4 (or extra) skinny spherical cake pans.
- Beat butter and sugar till fluffy. Add eggs one after the other. Combine in vanilla.
- Mix dry elements; add alternately with milk. Combine till easy.
- Pour skinny layers into pans. Bake 10-12 min till golden.
- Cool, stack with chocolate frosting between every layer and excessive.
Boston Cream Pie

Cake Elements:
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Filling:
1 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla
Topping:
Chocolate ganache (1/2 cup cream + 4 oz chocolate)
Directions:
- Bake cake in two spherical pans at 350°F (175°C) for 25 min.
- For filling: warmth milk. Whisk yolks, sugar, cornstarch. Mood, mix, prepare dinner until thick. Cool.
- Assemble: slice desserts, fill with custard, prime with ganache.
German Butter Cake (Butterkuchen)

Elements:
2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup heat milk
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp yeast
Topping:
Butter cubes and sugar (or almonds if desired)
Directions:
- Combine heat milk, yeast, sugar. Let bubble.
- Add flour, egg, salt, butter. Knead to mushy dough. Rise 1 hour.
- Press into pan, add butter cubes and sprinkle sugar.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes.
Crimson Velvet Cake

Elements:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 tbsp pink meals coloring
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp vinegar
Directions:
- Combine dry elements.
- Beat sugar and oil, add eggs, vanilla, coloring.
- Alternate flour and buttermilk.
- Stir in vinegar final. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 min in 2 pans.
Frosting:
Cream cheese frosting (8 oz cream cheese + 1/2 cup butter + 2 cups powdered sugar)
Ice Cream Cake

Elements:
1 field cake combine
1 quart ice cream (softened)
1 cup scorching fudge
Whipped cream
Directions:
- Bake cake as directed. Cool utterly.
- Unfold softened ice cream over cake.
- Freeze till agency.
- Unfold scorching fudge, then whipped cream. Freeze once more earlier than serving.
Satan’s Meals Cake

Elements:
2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
Filling/Topping:
Chocolate frosting
Crushed chocolate cookies for adornment (non-obligatory)
Directions:
- Combine dry elements. Add eggs, milk, oil, vanilla. Beat 2 min.
- Stir in boiling water. Batter might be skinny.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 min.
- Cool. Frost and prime with crushed cookies.
